Community Collaborations & Projects
ImageOut partners with fellow community organizations to collaborate and jointly present special events, such as film screenings, art exhibits, panel discussions, and more. In recent years, we have proudly worked with Shoulders to Stand On, The Little Theatre, Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester, Casa Italiana at Nazareth College, Geva Theatre Center, Human Rights Campaign Western & Central NY, Rochester Jewish Film Festival and others to promote awareness, foster dialogue and build community.
Community Partner Guest Speakers
ImageOut’s ImageOutreach program connects our patrons to the greater Rochester community – including activist groups, arts and culture organizations, social clubs, volunteer groups, religious institutions, healthcare providers, and more – that speak to their interests. Selected community partners speak briefly before film festival screenings, providing information and resources to educate, inform and assist our patrons.
Next Generation Film Series
Our Next Generation Film Series is devoted to films by, for, and about LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. Tickets to these specially designated films are free to anyone 25 and under. High school GSA advisors and college or university student organizations may reach out during advance ticket sale periods to reserve a group batch of tickets for these films. Adult GSA advisors who attend as chaperones may also receive complimentary tickets.
Outreach & Engagement
ImageOut proudly connects directly with community members across the greater Rochester area, speaking and tabling at various community programs and events across Monroe County. We could recently be seen at the Brighton Farmers Market, Clothesline Festival, HRC Second Thursday Networking Event, and countless Pride events. If you see us out and about, be sure to stop by our table and say hello!
Special Ticket Offers
As part of our ImageOutreach program, ImageOut may also provide special outreach ticket discount offers to event attendees and participants at partnering community organizations during our film festivals.
Sponsorships & Grantmaking
Through ImageOutreach, we also provide in-kind and monetary support to local organizations for programs and events that align with our mission of celebrating and supporting LGBTQ+ arts and culture. In recent years, we have proudly sponsored events for Rochester Black Pride, Rainbow Seniors ROC, Rochester LGBTQ+ Together, ROC Pride Collective, Human Rights Campaign Western & Central NY, Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus, Next Generation Men of Transition, and more.
