ACCESSIBILITY

Making ImageOut Accessible

ImageOut believes everyone should have the opportunity to be part of the larger LGBTQ+ community regardless of age, income or ability. Our goal is to expand our audience, reaching more people every year.

Venue Accessibility

ImageOut selects movie theatre and special event venues that are physically accessible.

The Little Theatre 1 includes a limited number of wheelchair accessible seats. Additional accessible seating is available upon request during the advance ticket sales. The Little Theatre 5 also features companion seating in the back of the theater and the aisle. The Little CafĂ© is entirely one level, without stairs. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant bathrooms are accessible in both buildings. Handicap parking is available in the lot on Winthrop Street.

Services for the Deaf / Hard of Hearing

From our beginning 25 years ago, ImageOut programs have provided ASL interpreting whenever requested. Interpreting for Festival films is available upon request during advance ticket sales. Interpreting requests must be made at least one week in advance of a film screening or special event. ImageOut will attempt to secure an interpreter whenever requested. Films that will be interpreted will be noted on the Festival webpage.

The Little Theatre provides options for the hearing impaired including hearing amplification headphones in all theaters and personal captioning devices for all theaters. The Little Theatres 1, 2, 4 and 5 are also equipped with a Hearing Loop System. This loop is a wire that circles the room, and is connected to a sound system. The loop transmits sound electromagnetically and that electromagnetic signal is picked up by the telecoil in hearing aids. To use the hearing loop, you flip on the t-switch on your hearing aid. The Dryden Theater also has a Hearing Loop System.

Financial Need Tickets

ImageOut provides a limited number of free tickets, upon request, to individuals who cannot otherwise afford to attend our film festival screenings. Patrons who can demonstrate low income (e.g. EBT card) can contact our office during advance ticket sales to inquire about availability. Human services organizations may also arrange to receive tickets for their eligible clients.

Senior & Young Adult Discounts

As appreciation for their role in the community, and to encourage further participation in the festival, a $2 discount is available to individuals over the age of 65 for many films shown during the Festivals. Individual purchases must be made at in-person advance ticket sales or at the theater box offices with a valid photo ID.

To encourage young adults (25 and under) to attend the Festivals, a $2 discount is available to many of the films shown during the Festival. Individual purchases must be made at in-person advance ticket sales or at the theater box offices with a valid photo ID.
